Passed the exam!!

Praise the Lord!!!

I've just got an email from the committee of my second field exam. I passed the exam!!!!!

At the same time, my summer grant, which was contingent on passing the exam, is officially processed!!

Now, I really really need to WORK on my research, on which I haven't made any progress.

I pray for God's wisdom!!!!

I finished my second field exam at 5 p.m. Saturday!! Praise the Lord!

Actually, the exam was supposed to begin on Friday 9 a.m., but I happened to start it on Wednesday 5p.m. So, the three day exam finished before Sunday!

Thank God that the questions were familiar with me.

Thanks to everyone for prayer!!!

Now, it's time to pray that my professors will be generous as they read three of my 15 page answers.

It's also time for me to start what I have to do this summer since the exam has taken one third of my summer without letting me do any work(real work).

I FINALLY got my tax refund!

Strangely, it's more than I filed, which means I got more than I paid as tax last year!!! About $20 more! Weird!

Anyway, praise the Lord!!! More money is good!

Praise the Lord who always provides me with all of my needs!

Now, I have another reason that I SHOULD pass my second field exam which will be on July 13.

Please pray for that and also for wisdom to know what He wants me to do with what He provides!!!

It was in a really long time for me to be in nature without noises.

I enjoyed beautiful and peaceful nature so much, for which I could not but be grateful to God.

Pastor Don Sunukjian's messages were very good, too. They were so inspiring and encouraging.

"The Sound of Music" was also really good to see again in a long time. The singing in the movie was so awesome.

Another thing I enjoyed in the retreat was a book called "Laying Down", which I read during free time. In peaceful nature, I read the book listening to music I brought in my mp3. The book is an essay by a missionary in Mongolia, who got his Ph.D. at Harvard and went to Mongolia as a missionary right after getting his degree. The overall content was not that new to me, but it was good enough to remind me of the meaning of 'laying down myself'.

Now I'm back to my routine in LA. I pray that I can genuinely lay down everything in front of God and follow his lead through my life.

Currently listening to "Trinity Piano" performed by Jeff Nelson.

Jeff Nelson's Trinity Piano is so good. It's just so peaceful and pleasant.

However often I may listen to it, I never get tired of it.

Everyone I've sent the music likes it, too.

I have Trinity Piano I and II. I'll get Trinity Piano III soon. My dear friend, Saxophonist Yoo (He's changed his nickname recently AGAIN. ), will send it to me.

My second field exam date! It's going to be a three- or five-day exam. Just like my previous exam, it consists of writing three papers answering questions that will be given.

I need to work harder on that!! Only 2 month and a half left. Still, tons of books and articles to read I have. I also have to write something beforehand.

Pray that God's wisdom and lead be with me as I study for the exam.

Thank God!! For what?

I have true friends. Real, genuine lifelong friends! Not just 'friends' but 'true friends'.

It's such a great blessing that God has granted me.

Today, one of the friends visited me from far with his brother. We went hiking to the Santa Monica Mountains.

We actually ended up hiking only a little, but we had fun eating lunch together and talking to each other.

He is going on a mission trip to Argentina in the summer for a couple of weeks. He tries really hard to learn Spanish now! It seems he's already studied quite a little. He asked lots of questions as we faced different situations. I tried to answer them as much as I could. In particular, he was so happy to learn some expressions he would be able to use to preach the Gospel.

Pray that God be with his mission trip and its preparation. I believe God will rejoice his passion and humble service!

I like this music without voice better. So peaceful ...

In quite a few cases, I listen to accompaniment music rather than songs with voice. That gives me much greater comfort and peace and makes me feel God's tranquil love for me.
